Please play this at my funeral. It's perfect.
PS. Not planning on dying any time soon tho so make sure you remember this for in about 50 years time.
Thanks

Flu and snow scupper my big weekend!
The Bloke got the flu last Wednesday and we also had about 20 inches of snow that stuck mid-week so I kissed goodbye to my big weekend out. The plan was to see James Blake on Friday night followed by Ellen Allien on Saturday (this was a choice over the Wax-On night that had Jamie XX on the bill.)
Don't you hate it when a plan DOESN'T come together?!
Ellen Allien only seems to make it to the UK a couple of times in the year but she is the cream of the crop as far as Techno goes.
I saw her back in March and she played an amazing 2 hour set that left me sooooo tired from dancing that I practically needed carrying to bed. I was almost relieved to have finally seen her play after failing to entice unconverted friends to come along to Futuresonic (Manchester 2006). They have since repented of their sins!
As for James Blake: Well he's tipped to be the next big thing... watch this space.
He's redone a famous Feist song. It's pretty.
Check out Ellen Allien (with Apparat)

And this is her live... (I'm at the front of the crowd somewhere)

Wedding bliss!
I'm getting married next June and my gorgeous fiance and I have been really struggling with wedding planning because we both completely fail to be enthused by convention. Add to that, neither of us have been invited to many weddings in the past so we've no idea what people will expect of us.
So far we've got some of the traditional stuff booked but it would really make our day special if we could get a decent DJ. We're soooo into our electronic music but what kind of DJ wouldn't be uber insulted if asked to play at a wedding?! Dilemma!
Anywhooo someone tweeted this guy's wedding films. He calls it filmatography which sounds a tad pretentious but I forgive him because his work is stunning. From the looks of thing's he's shooting on a Canon Digital SLR. Great technique! Have a look at more stuff on his Vimeo. I especially like the first video because they have a DJ!! :D
