What a tune!

Repeat after me...

I love Joy Orbison.

Thank you.

Goodnight

Strange but strangly cool...

I found this about a month ago and can't keep it to myself any longer. Its time to jump on the band wagon people.

I can't describe why this is so ace, it just is!

I heart Miranda Hart

I love Miranda.

My mum and sister call me after every episode.
I think everyone can relate to falling over at crucial moments or tangling words and making a wally of yourself.
Thing is Miranda does it every half an hour. Very funny, pretty cute and totally lovable.

Life should always be this light-Hart-ed. (See what i did there. No? Good.)

Watch out for Miranda if you need a smile putting back on your face.
(She is on Sport Relief Million Pound Bike Ride on 18th March 2010)

A quote for today

I'm a graphic designer specializing in print. Many people think that 'print is dead' and industry magazines have been publishing headlines like this for the last few years. But for me print still has a purpose and still has impact that the digital medium just can't replicate. I'm fascinated by printing techniques and what modern day printing technology can achieve. So I'm going to share with you what I have learnt this week about competing in such a difficult market. See above

A wish list item.

I love this gorgeous jacket by Reiss. That collar is a dream if you have a long neck and a short bob haircut (par example; moi!)

These embroided flowers on stiff fabric create beautiful structure to this collection by Christopher Kane.

Central Saint Martins MA 2010 Graduates

Top row, Lilly Heine.
Bottom row left, Malte Flagstad.
Bottom row right, Anja Mlaker.

Some of my highlights...

As always the reason I've chosen these is because I think the designer has grasped something unique about what they have made. Some of the other graduates seem to follow in the style of work that is already out there in a way that is too self-replicating to make it onto this blog.

So anyway. I love the cut of these clothes especially the black menswear by Malte Flagstad. Being a print designer myself I think I am drawn to Lilly Heine's work because of the paper-like quality to those gorgeous layers over the shoulders and down the front.
I like Anja Mlakar's work because of the smoothness and contrast of those oversized curved ribs on the talk lanky models. I really like that shade of blue as-well. It would have been generic to do these dresses in a cool gray but I'm glad to see them in this dusty blue.
